Materials & Craftsmanship

The body is formed from hand-cut crystal, worked with a disciplined vocabulary of geometric motifs: cross-hatched panels, star rosettes, sunburst medallions, and finely scored banding that march from base to flared rim in precise register. Each facet is ground and polished by hand, catching ambient light and refracting it into cool silver flashes — a hallmark of the Bohemian and French crystal tradition. Encircling the upper body, a cast brass garland of roses, ribbons, and leafy sprigs drapes in graceful swags — a three-dimensional application of the rocaille floral festoon motif so beloved by Louis XV craftsmen.
