This demilune console draws its soul from the refined elegance of the Louis XVI court, where Neoclassical ideals replaced the exuberance of Rococo with disciplined symmetry, graceful swags, and antique-revival motifs. The semi-circular silhouette—a hallmark of late 18th-century French design—allows it to hug a wall with effortless grace while commanding attention in any interior.

Materials & Finish

The body is constructed from solid mahogany, celebrated for its warm, deep reddish-brown tone and exceptional durability. The tabletop features a richly figured burr-mahogany veneer, adding visual depth and luxury. Every surface is finished in a hand-applied high-gloss lacquer that deepens the wood's natural warmth. Adorning the apron and legs are hand-cast, chased, and fire-gilt bronze ormolu mounts—swags of laurel, floral medallion cartouches, and column capitals—each individually burnished to a rich antique gold lustre. The tapered, fluted legs are crowned with turned ormolu collars and terminate in delicate brass sabots.

Craftsmanship

Every piece bearing the Brass & Wood name is handcrafted in Egypt by artisans who have devoted their lives to mastering classical European joinery and bronze-casting traditions. The mortise-and-tenon construction ensures structural integrity, while each ormolu mount is hand-finished and individually fitted to its corresponding recess in the wood—a process that can take several hours per fitting. The result is a console that does not merely replicate history; it continues it.
