Design Inspiration

Rooted in the refined vocabulary of Louis XVI Neoclassicism, this set of four graduated nesting tables channels the splendour of 18th-century French royal interiors. Delicate pink roses and scrolling gold acanthus motifs are hand-painted directly onto each ivory-lacquered top, echoing the porcelain-like decorative panels beloved by the court of Versailles. The largest table features an ornate pierced-brass gallery rail — a hallmark of Louis XVI tray tables — while all four share elegant tapered and fluted solid-wood legs finished in ivory and gold leaf.

Materials & Finish

Each table is constructed from kiln-dried solid wood, hand-carved for structural integrity and decorative detail. The ivory lacquer ground is built up in multiple coats, hand-rubbed to a silken lustre. Gold-leaf gilding highlights the carved aprons, leg capitals and the pierced-brass gallery of the statement table. The hand-painted floral compositions — unique to Brass & Wood artisans — are sealed beneath a protective clear coat to ensure lasting vibrancy.

Craftsmanship

Every piece in this set is handcrafted in Egypt by Brass & Wood master craftsmen who inherit generations of classical European furniture-making tradition. Joinery is mortise-and-tenon, and all gilding is applied using traditional water-gilding techniques. The result is furniture that does not merely replicate history — it perpetuates it.
