Design & Inspiration
Rooted in the elegant restraint of late 18th-century French royal interiors, this console and mirror set embodies the Louis XVI Neoclassical spirit. Symmetrical garlands, ribbon-tied swags, acanthus rosettes, and urn finials reference the vocabulary of Versailles, rendered with the obsessive attention to detail that defines Brass & Wood craftsmanship.
Materials
The frame is constructed from kiln-dried solid hardwood, hand-carved by master artisans and then coated in genuine gold leaf for a warm, luminous finish. The console top is dressed in richly veined natural marble, adding cool contrast to the gilded wood. The mirror plate is polished float glass set within the ornate carved surround.
Craftsmanship
Every swag, tassel, and fluted leg is carved individually before the entire piece is assembled, primed, and gilded by hand in the Brass & Wood atelier in Egypt. Multiple layers of bole and gold leaf are burnished to achieve depth and brilliance. The result is a showpiece that rivals the great cabinet-makers of 18th-century Paris.
