Inspired by the pinnacle of French Rococo cabinetmaking, this kidney-shaped side table captures the organic, sinuous energy of the Louis XV court. Its serpentine silhouette, cabriole legs, and asymmetric floral marquetry top echo the ateliers of 18th-century Versailles, reimagined by the master craftsmen of Brass & Wood in Egypt.

Materials & Finish

The carcass and legs are constructed from kiln-dried solid hardwood for lifelong structural integrity. The surfaces are dressed in precision-cut parquetry veneers arranged in a diamond pattern, while the oval top panel showcases a hand-inlaid floral bouquet marquetry in contrasting fruitwoods and satinwood. Every edge is framed with antique-gold ormolu — cast and chased gilt-bronze mounts depicting flowing acanthus leaves, floral sprays, and shell motifs.

Two Functional Drawers

Two curved front drawers, fitted with hand-polished gilt-bronze ring pulls, glide smoothly on solid-wood runners. The interior is finished in a warm tonal wood, making each drawer as refined inside as it is outside.

Craftsmanship & Heritage

Every piece bearing the Brass & Wood name is assembled by hand in our Egyptian atelier using time-honoured joinery techniques — mortise-and-tenon construction, hand-cut dovetails, and individually applied veneer sheets. This is not furniture produced by machines; it is an heirloom conceived for generations.
